Biar is located in the foothills of the Sierra Mariola, surrounded by a range of mountains forming an amphitheater, all with more than 1,000 m above sea level, highlighting the Reconco (1,206 m), the Penya Tallà (1,044 m), Alt Reo (1,015 m), the Blasca Penya (1,150 m) and Fenessosa (1,210 m).

The relief is therefore three distinct morphological units: glen or vega Vinalopó river, the foothills leading from the valley into the foothills of the sierras and the mountains themselves.

Half of the 98.17 km² term consist of woodland with large pine forests, which is one of the main tourist attractions of the town, and are crossed by several trails, including PRV-55, PRV-155 and PRV -35. They are mostly concentrated in the shady of Reconco and Fontanella, which also supplies many small outcrop which today little volume is collected in ponds for irrigation of some small orchards.
