The Castle and the ethnographic museum are must-sees when you come to Biar.
Biar Castle was declared a National Monument on June 4, 1931. It is located on a rocky hill at an altitude of 750 m, is of Muslim origin and is chronologically situated in the middle of the 12th century. Its structure, which is maintained, preserves a double walled enclosure, and crenellated with its corresponding walkway, with four cubes on the outside and three inside, arranged around the great Master or Homage tower, free-standing, with a square floor plan. and three floors. The tower, 19 meters high, is built with lime and sand mortar, (rammed earth), inside it preserves the oldest example, in Almohad style vaults. 
It was conquered by King Jaime l the Conqueror in the month of February 1245 after a siege that lasted six months, in this assault the "Fonevol" was used, a war machine for throwing stones. Its last Warden according to the Llibre D'els Fets, was MUZA-ALMORABIT.

Ethnographic Museum  
The Municipal Ethnographic Museum was born with the purpose of recovering, conserving and disseminating our cultural heritage, traditions and trades, highlighting above all the pottery and glazed ceramic tradition of which Biar is a reference point. Its three floors are distributed by sections where the numerous funds that come from private donations are exposed in a thematic way. There are also pieces of municipal property. There is an elevator so that disabled people can access the different floors without any architectural barrier. The building where the museum is located is from the s. XIX, and his works and objects have been exhibited since 1999. It consists of more than 1000 pieces between exhibits and background. Each section has a QR where there is a summary explanation of the most significant objects.
